I should certainly stop his habit, although I use speaker phone most of the time these days.
I bought a three mobile broadband 24months plan recently, as they offered a half price deal over the Christmas period. (2GB for $24.95AUD/month)
Now I can get broadband and work everywhere* (with some fine prints).
2008 will be a more interesting year than 2007.
